History comes alive again in May ’26.
Herefordshire HISTORIES FESTIVAL
The story
A county-wide festival of Herefordshire History. We asked individuals and organisations to plan suitable events.
Exciting times, as we embrace history. The 2026 Festival Saturday runs 9 May 2026 to Monday 25 May 2026.
“Thank you for finding our site.
We now have more than 80 separate events listed here with many being repeated from last year. A special thanks to the water mills which are opening up. It is no coincidence that National Mills Weekend is during the Festival.
You can print your own HHF publicity materials, follow the link below.
We have the events, we just need to encourage people to come along to them. Our social media are starting in earnest. I hope that like me, you see this festival as a celebration of our county’s history. Something to celebrate when there is so much conflict in other places.
Below are pics from 2025.”

9 – 25 MAY 2026
We ask groups and individuals throughout the County to organise events to celebrate the extraordinary history of Herefordshire. The Festival recognises that the County has many historic sites and stories which are not celebrated enough.
The enthusiasm of event organisers will ensure the longevity of this Festival. We’re into year two. And attract people to visit and enjoy the history of the County.
