The story of Snodhill Castle, in the Golden Valley between Peterchurch and Dorstone. A unique castle with an extraordinary history.
Wednesday, April 15th – DAVID LOVELACE
Leominster landscape and agriculture. The development history of Leominster and its surrounding landscape from historic maps and the archives.
Wednesday, May 20th – PETER O’NEILL
The stained glass of Hereford Cathedral, specifically focussing on the many connections to Leominster and the surrounding area.
Wednesday, September 16th – NICK RUMBLE
Pembridge, a talk about the long history of Pembridge. The village is one of the gems on Herefordshire’s famous Black and White Village Trail.
To be followed by on Saturday, September 19th, a guided tour of the village and the landscape it is set in.
Wednesday, October 21st – MALCOM MASON
This talk will look at the history of the mills in the town, and the people involved in building and working them.
Wednesday, November 18th – MIKE WATKINS
Leominster Canal. The chairman of Friends of the Leominster Canal looks at the route, structures, aqueducts and other points of interest giving an historical context.
Wednesday, December 16th – DENISE NORTH
The Herefordshire Hoard is the most important recovery of Viking era goods in several generations, and historically the one to change views of the role of this area in shifting times.
