Tony Norman of the Leen, Pembridge will talk about his experience of the 80 years of farming since 1945. How he approached this period of enormous agricultural change and how he endevoured to balance this with a personal commitment to stewardship of the countryside in the Arrow Valley.

There has been farming in the Arrow Valley for thousands of years but there was never more change in Agriculture than that which occured after the Second World war.
The Leen is mentioned early in the historic record, and Tony and his wife’s family have farmed at The Leen for many generations.
Tony will recall his experience, the challenges, the opportunities, the achievements and the costs
in the business of producing good nutrious food on the one hand, and conserving nature on the other.
