Understanding the Census

Monday 18 May, 11am-12pm at Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre, Fir Tree Lane, Hereford HR2 6LA. Cost £5. Please book at archives@herefordshire.gov.uk.

Clare O’Grady follows the enumerator through the ins and outs of the nation’s people count. From the first full population listing of 1841 to the detailed assessment conducted 80 years later, Clare will explain the evolution of the census and how best to exploit its findings through digital resources. This will be a practical session so places will be limited.
