Discovering Rotherwas Chapel

Park at Warehouse 701, in Rotherwas Industrial Estate to walk a 1km route to Rotherwas chapel discovering hidden history on route. Through woodland, past a historic lake and ending at Rotherwas chapel. Explore the chapel grounds and find out more about the history of Rotherwas country estate, chapel and house (demolished in 1926).   

• Flat, gentle 1km (15 minute) walk. 2km return  

• Discover history along the way following a printed leaflet including woodland graves of former country estate family  

• Once at the chapel, explore the grounds and learn more about its history including how it has arrived in its present condition in the care of English Heritage  

• View displays from Rotherwas Together, Dinedor Heritage Group and English Heritage  

• The chapel will be open from 2pm to 4pm, with volunteers and English Heritage officers available to share its history.  

How to Take Part  

1. To walk as a group, meet at 2pm: 

Join Nic Ferris and Simon Milham (Wye Valley Group / Pressbox publishing) for a led walk  

2. Self‑guided walk, 1:30–3:30pm: 

• pick up walk leaflet from the Warehouse 701 shop reception  

• follow the 1km route at your own pace  

• arrive at the chapel anytime between 2pm–3.40pm

• Parking and toilets available at Warehouse 701 – 1km from Chapel 

• No toilets at the chapel 

• The access road to the chapel is private. Use at your own risk
