Step into the past with Herefordshire archaeologist Tim Hoverd and uncover thousands of years of human history on a guided archaeology walk through the beautiful Welsh Marches landscape.
This 1.5 hour circular walk will explore the signs of human habitation around this ancient site in the Herefordshire-Wales borders from the Neolithic period through to the 20th century.
Starting from The Rodd, a Jacobean Manor House and farm, you’ll explore how clues in the landscape and Rodd Wood tell stories of ancient settlement, farming practies and more recent historical developments. Tim will bring the past to life with insights from archaeological digs, research and local knowledge.
Please book your place on our website via link below.
PLEASE NOTE: the walk will take place outdoors across uneven terrain so please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.
Light refreshments available to purchase in The Rodd cafe on from 10.30am – 4pm. The Rodd is open to the public as a rural arts and heritage charity from April to September. Admission to the house and exhibition gallery must be bought separately.
