Join the team from Our Digital Ancestors to explore the history and heritage of Kingsland’s churchyard and learn more about the memorials of those buried here.
This event is free, just drop in!
There will be a number of activities including:
• A self-guided churchyard tour, exploring some of the memorials and the individuals commemorated on them
• A self-guided children’s trail
• ‘Then and Now’ stations, where you can see old photographs from the spot where they were taken and compare it with the current view!
• Memorial photography workshop (12pm-1pm)
• Memorial transcription workshop (2pm-3pm)
The event is being run as part of Herefordshire Histories Festival (10th-18th May) by Our Digital Ancestors, a national project funded by The National Lottery Fund and Historic England that supports the recording of burial grounds by churches and other similar interest groups.
The Our Digital Ancestors project team work for the charity Caring for God’s Acre, who have been actively involved at Kingsland in the past and are very
